KUPUNA FARMS began after the 2018 Hurricane Season watching the run on bottled water and food until the shelves were empty.
Residents throughout the state of Hawai'i now understand there's only three (3) days of food when the shipping lanes close.
KUPUNA FARMS BRINGS TOGETHER PROPERTY OWNERS AND FARMERS.
THOSE WHO HAVE LAND TO SHARE AND THOSE WHO GROW FOOD.
Kupuna in Hawaiian means grandparent and elder. The original teachers and caretakers.
Kupuna also means the source, the starting point, and growing.
Nā Kūpuna knew how to feed the Hawaiian Kingdom of a million people. Now 90% of our food is imported. Same population.
This is the mission of Kupuna Farms: to be educators and caretakers and share and teach others to grow food. We are a coalition of individuals and organizations working for a secure and sustainable Hawaiʻi.
